Games Save Lives will be hosting a charity video gaming marathon from 11 AM EST, April 16, 2011 to 11 PM, April 17th, 2011 for a total length of 36 hours. These marathons have grown in popularity in recent years and often raise thousands of dollars for important causes. This particular marathon will be raising money to provide relief for those affected by the recent tsunami and earthquake in Japan. All donations will be sent immediately to Direct Relief International. 100% of donation funds received will be used exclusively for programmatic activities related to Japan, and none of the funds will be used to pay for fundraising or administrative expenses. In the marathon, the members of Games Save Lives will be hosting a live, online stream of themselves playing video games for 36 hours. We will be playing primarily Japanese games, such as Resident Evil 5, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Metal Gear Solid 3. Please donate or spread the word about this fundraiser through social networking sites and news sources. With your help, we can provide aid to a country in need. To donate, visit our page on the Direct Relief International website: dri.convio.net/goto/gamessavelivesTo watch, go to www.justin.tv/silbmaerto on April 16th and 17th.
